Expertise in programming languages coupled with a solid foundation in mathematics is crucial for learning AI. Applied mathematics, psychology, and technology design are areas of interest for an aspirant in the AI domain.
At COE, students analyze the working of an AI game. Further, they create chatbots. Additionally, code to perform Natural Language Processing, which is a branch of AI. A concept-driven curriculum coupled with inquiry-based learning at COE helps the students, acquire the skills necessary for a curious learner in the AI domain.

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and imitate their actions. It can also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits related to a person’s mind like learning and problem-solving. AI refers to ” man-made thinking power.”


Why Artificial Intelligence?

With the assistance of AI,

  • You can create software or devices which may solve real-world problems easily and accurately. AI can simplify problems in various domains like healthcare, finance, gaming, and others.
  • You can create personal virtual Assistants, such as Siri, Google Assistant, etc.
  • You can build Robots which may be of great help in performing repetitive and dangerous tasks which humans prefer not to do because of extreme environments such as outer space or the bottom of the sea.

Autonomous Vehicles – Automotive Industry

Self-driving cars are a buzzword in the AI industry. The development of autonomous vehicles will definitely revolutionize the transport system. The AI system collects data from the vehicle’s radar, cameras, GPS, and cloud services to produce control signals that operate the vehicle.

Waymo, the Google self-driving-project unit, has begun its driverless ride-hailing service to the public, in Phoenix.

AI implements computer vision and image detection to detect objects around and to recognize them. Advanced Deep Learning algorithms can accurately predict what objects in the vehicle’s vicinity are likely to do, respond to it, and alert the driver to take control of the vehicle in cases of emergency. This makes Waymo cars more effective and safer.

 A humanoid robot named Sophia talks, demonstrates facial expressions, answers questions, and behaves very similarly to humans.



Some entertainment services like Netflix and Amazon, use AI-based applications. With the support of AI algorithms, these services display personalized recommendations for movies or shows.



 Thousands of data points, produced by farms on the ground daily, serve as input to the AI algorithms.

With AI, various parameters for farming, such as weather conditions, temperature, water usage, or soil conditions can be analyzed, using the data collected from the farm. This in turn helps the farmers to make well-informed decisions.



AI is providing a competitive edge to the e-commerce industry. It helps shoppers get products with recommended size, color, and brand and provides them a personalized shopping experience.
